If you’re having trouble using the FXNOW, or Nat Geo TV app on your Roku device (app crashing, videos not loading, etc.), we’d first like to make sure that there isn’t an issue with your internet connection. If there are other applications you use with your Roku, test them out. If the issue is exclusive to our app, the first step would be to run a test of your internet connection.
On a computer connected to the same network, please visit www.speedtest.net. You’ll see a map, and on the map, click the green button that says “Begin Test”. You’ll see results for download speed, upload speed and ping. We recommend a download speed of at least 1.0 megabits per second (mbps) for a consistent stream.
If your speed is above our recommendation, please perform a full power cycle. This means unplugging your Roku from the power source, as well as the router and modem you use to connect to the internet. After about 30 seconds, plug everything back in, and try streaming videos on the channel once again.
If this doesn’t work, the next step would be to delete and reinstall the channel. From the main menu, highlight the channel, then hit the star button on your Roku remote, then click "Remove Channel".
Go back to the main menu, then click on "Channel Store". You will see the app listed there and you can download the channel once again.
The last step we’d have you try would be to make sure your Roku software is fully up to date. From the main menu, go to Settings, and then click "Check for Update". If you’re software is out of date, the update will automatically be installed.
