How do I clear my browser cache?

If you’re having trouble streaming on FOX.com, one of the first steps you can take is to clear the cache on your browser. Your browser is automatically set to store temporary files on websites you visit, with the intent on speeding things up for websites you repeatedly visit. However, sometimes this cache can slow things down or interrupt your experience, if, for example, a website changes its content, or a file on it becomes corrupted. In these situations, clearing your cache will take care of any outstanding issues.

Here’s a guide to clearing your cache for each browser:

Chrome

-Click Chrome Menu button (the three horizontal bars) in the upper right corner of the browser toolbar

-Hover over “More Tools”

-Click “Clear browsing data”

-Under “Obliterate the following items from”, select “the beginning of time”

-Check off the boxes for “Cookies and other site and plug-in data” and “Cached images and files”. All other boxes can be unchecked

-Click “Clear browsing data”

Firefox

-Click the Firefox menu (the three horizontal bars) in the upper right corner of the browser toolbar

-Click “History”

-Click “Clear Recent History...”

-Under "Time range to clear:" select “Everything”

-Check off the box for “Cache” and “Cookies”. All other boxes can be unchecked

-Click “Clear Now”

-Restart or refresh Firefox

Internet Explorer

-Click the gear icon in the upper right corner

-Click “Internet Options”

-In General tab, you should see a “Browsing History” section. Click “Delete”

-Check off the box for “Temporary Internet Files”. All other boxes can be unchecked

-Click “Delete”

Alternate

-Click the Gear Icon in the upper right corner

-Click “Safety”

-Click ”Delete browsing history”

-Check the box for “Temporary Internet Files and Website Files”. All other boxes can be unchecked5. Click “Delete”

Edge

-Click the Edge menu button (the three horizontal lines in the top right)

-Click “History” (the clock with the arrow pointing counterclockwise)

-Select “Clear all history”

-Check the boxes for “Cookies and saved website data” and “Cached data and files”. All other boxes can be unchecked.

-Click “Clear”

Safari

-Click Safari in the upper left corner of the menu bar

-Click ”Reset Safari”

-Check the box for “Remove All Website Data”. All other boxes can be unchecked4. Click “Reset”

Opera

-In the upper left corner, click “Opera”

-Hover over “More Tools”

-Click “Clear browsing data”

-Make sure the boxes for “Delete cookies and other site data” and “Empty the cache” are checked. All other boxes can be unchecked.

-Click “Clear Browsing Data”
