Why I am having trouble using the FXNOW app on my Amazon Fire TV/Fire Stick?
If you’re having trouble using FXNOW app on your Amazon Fire TV or Fire Stick (app crashing, videos not loading, etc.), we’d first like to make sure that there isn’t an issue with your internet connection. If there are other applications you use with your Fire TV, test them out. If the issue is exclusive to one of our apps, the first step would be to run a test of your internet connection.
On a computer connected to the same network as your Fire TV, please visit www.speedtest.net. You’ll see a map, and on the map, click the green button that says Begin Test. You’ll see results for download speed, upload speed and ping. We recommend a download speed of at least 1.0 megabits per second (mbps) for a consistent stream.
If your speed is above our recommendation, please perform a full power cycle. This means unplugging your Fire TV from the power source, as well as the router and modem you use to connect to the internet. After about 30 seconds, plug everything back in, and try streaming with the app once again.
Next, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. From the main menu of the Fire TV, select Settings >Manage All Applications > Fire TV > FXNOW and select Uninstall. Then, add the FXNOW app once again from the Amazon Store.
Lastly, please make sure you have the most recent firmware installed on your Fire TV. From the main menu, go to Settings > About > Software Version
